2022.3 (03/02/2022)

* Add the new SQLite sample app. This new sample app show how we can use the SQL.js Javascript library in order to use SQLite databases from our apps. We can create databases from scratch, as well to load existing database files (even if we compile the database file in our apps executables) and save database files from our apps. The sample app is quite simple, but, at the same time, show how we can do the principal tasks to deal with SQLite databases: load a database file if exists, create a database table, save the database into a file and perform SQL queries to select and to insert new information into the database. Probably the two more important tasks that the sample show is how we can load a database from a file and how to save a database into a file. Take a look at the index.html file of the sample app for more information and details.

Here is a new DecSoft App Builder with the below changes, fixes and enhancements:


2022.2 (02/06/2022)

* Update the Bootstrap CSS framework to the latest version: update for the app's template, but also the program's help, welcome, about and plugins help pages. The themes provided by Bootwatch has been also updated to the latest release.

* Update the Microsoft Edge Runtime installer to the latest version. This update includes all the supported flavors, that is, the full installer for both 32 and 64 bits. This installer are internally used by the DecSoft App Builder installer to properly prepare the IDE to use the Edge Runtime webview for the apps Debugger browser.

* Add a new item into the App menu which can be used to remove the app source cache folder. Sometime we can experiment problems with the app source cache, so we can now use this new item in order to remove the app source cache folder, then we can compile the app from the scratch.

* Re-add the appropriate icon images to the items of IDE tabs contextual menu. This is in fact an omission from certain release in the past, when we add large images to prepare the IDE for 4K monitors.

* Add the new ChartJS sample app. This sample app shows how we can use the ChartJS library to create charts for our apps. The ChartJS library is probably the best Javascript library to create charts using Javascript. Additionally this sample app is another sample app which show us how we can add entire folders using the app's Files manager, and then link to the required files individually also from the Files manager.

* Update the Bootstrap CSS framework (incuding the CSS and Javascript) to the latest 5.1.3 version for the program's welcome page, program's help and program's about.

* Update the Microsoft Edge Runtime installer to the latest version. This update includes all the supported flavors, that is, the full installer for both 32 and 64 bits and the downloadable installer for both 32 and 64 bits.

* Add the new Clipboard sample app. This sample app show us how we can use the Javascript Clipboard API to directly copy and cut text to the system clipboard, as well how to paste text from the system clipboard to our apps.

It's quite rare then... First of all, the destination folder is the same folder than the app's index.html file. Can you reproduce the problem with the sample apps? You get the right compilation file for Windows 32 bits? The point is that I cannot reproduce the problem here... I can compile the apps for both Windows 32 and Windows 64 bits... So please, try with the sample apps... to see if there is something specific with your app... but this it's quite rare...

Can be another possible thing, however (and you can smile a bit) probably you have the destination folder opened... and this can cause the compilation error. So, please, try to compile the app without the destination folder opened. The destination folder is the folder in which the executable files will be saved. Try with this solution and tell me if that works for you: I am 99% sure that yes, but please, post here if works for you or not.

At designtime, we can use the Metatags app's option, since the metatags are placed in the HTML head. At runtime it's also possible, using a code similar than the below, for example, at the app's Mounted event, or maybe the app's DomReady event.

DecSoft (In thread: Apache Cordova version)

Hello Tinn,

This can be useful to you: in the Cordova version option of the Android platform and the Cordova version option of the iOS platform, as you already know, we can specify the number of the version of Cordova Android and Cordova iOS that we want to use, but, it's also possible to set that options with the word "latest" (without quotes), and, this apparently works as expected, I mean, with this we are "forcing" to use the latest available versions of Cordova Android and Cordova iOS. This can be useful if we always want to use the latest versions, without update these options with the latest available version numbers. In fact this the "latest" option is well documented in Apache Cordova, but I simply forget to comment it here in this post.

* There is a problem (probably in the project's view design XML) in the Container sample app which causes that the compilation cache don't work as expected. This release fix that problem in the referred Container sample app so now we can see the compilation cache working as expected, as well the app, and, in particular the "button1" behaviour. Here is a new DecSoft HTML Compiler with the below changes, fixes and enhancements:


2021.48 (11/20/2021)

* Add the new dhc.app.getArgs() external Javascript function. This function allows to retrieve the command line arguments passed to the app executable. Can be also used to retrieve the path of the app executable, since the argument number zero is always the app executable path.

* Add the new Arguments sample app. This sample app show us how to use the new dhc.app.getArgs() function in order to retrieve the optional arguments passed to the app executable program. The sample list the arguments who is passed to the app executable. Take a look at the sample ReadMe.txt file for more information and details.

* Add the new OpenWindow sample app. This sample app show us how we can load external URLs using a new app window, instead of a new default browser window. We use a intermediate HTML file (redirect.html) to load an external URL in a new app window. Take a look at the sample ReadMe.txt file for more information and details.
